Hye all!
Now, I would like to share about some of philosophies that we should know as a future science teacher :)
Teaching Philosophy
"The teaching philosophy is becoming a more common part of academic life for both faculty and graduate students. Graduate students report that colleges and universities often request statements from applicants for faculty positions. Faculty at an increasing number of institutions must develop a teaching statement as they approach tenure and promotion. Instructors at all levels find that writing their statement helps them develop as teachers, since it entails making their implicit views on teaching and student learning explicit and comparing those views to actual teaching practice"
Malaysia National Education Philosophy (NEP)
"Education in Malaysia is an ongoing effort towards further developing the potential of individuals in a holistic and integrated approach to create stable and harmonious intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically. Effort is designed to produce Malaysian citizens who are knowledgeable, honorable, responsible, competent and capable of achieving well-being and contribute to the betterment of family, community and country. "
The National Philosophy of Education (NPE) acts as a guide for all educational activities in Malaysia. It sets the values and principles of the Malaysian education system from the primary to the tertiary level. The NPE explains the aims and objectives of the national education for the individual and the nation. Its aims and objectives are in tandem, namely, to produce individuals who are knowledgeable and full of integrity who will contribute as responsible citizens. Education is considered to be a basic and major process in developing individuals to be the key players in achieving the country’s aims and aspirations. With the NPE, the national education system has propelled to the forefront of education in the region.
Based on the National Education Philosophy, explained that the purpose of higher education is more than just a degree or diploma earned, but is for the development of the human person as a whole and balanced to be a person, family and community members and citizens who are knowledgeable, responsible, honourable and pious.
